Match report In the U11's first match in the Nasser Hussain Cup, a close fought tense finish to a close match Old Parks won with one ball to spare.
Ilford batted first scoring 176-9 from their 40 overs, the pick of the parks bowlers were Paresh Kalley (6-1-13-3), Eshun Kalley (4-0-19-2)and Faaris Moreland (3-2-7-2).
Parks lost a quick wicket with the score on only 18 then a magnificent partnership of 140 run between Sahil Handa (53 retired) and Karambir Mathuru (50 retired) moved the score onto 152. A major collapse then occurred with 7 wickets falling, Karambir (finished on 53 no) returned, with 7 still needed from the final over the ninth wicket fell Sahil (finished on 59 no) then returned. Only three balls remained with a further 6 runs required for victory, Sahil then hit a 4 and a 2 to win the match with a ball to spare.
An excellent start in trying to retain the trophy won last year!
