Match report Old Parkonians 2nd XI won at Woodford Green by 9 wickets.
Parks lost the toss and fielded on a hot day at Woodford Green. Several key players including the captain were missing this week leaving a young and inexperienced side to try and pick up a 6th league win in the last game of the season.
Woodford Green got off to a good start with the openers putting on 60 in 12 overs, but a marathon spell from Amar Thanki of 19.2-3-68-4 and two wickets from young Dhruv Patel gave Parks a reasonable target of 228 on a flat but low pitch.
The reply began slowly but once the shine was taken off the new ball the runs flowed. The opening stand put on a record first wicket league partnership for Parks of 219, as 16 year old Harry Markatis scored 107 with stand-in captain Alan Bouquet scoring 93 not out.
This capped off an uneven but respectable season for the 2nds, who end the season as the team with the most wins in the club this year.
