Oakfield Parkonians Cricket Club Won by 45 runs

Match report Old Parks side faced Braintree in their second game of match play 2011. The Park’s Captain Harry Markatis won the toss and elected to bat on a sunny Sunday afternoon. It did not start too well, losing Harry and Luke Coates when on 11 runs. Elliot Osborne looked in good touch before he got out for 22. A resolute 53 from Shane Vamadevan anchored the innings along with Taariq Bharuchi who made a valuable 14 under difficult circumstances. An utter brutal onslaught from Prashant Bist who made 70 from just 33 balls including three huge sixes (one out of the ground straight down the ground) and seven fours and a quick fire 28 from 11 balls from Rikesh Patel helped the Parks amass a huge 241-8 off their 40 overs, the Parks got 154 in the last 20 overs ( mainly thanks to some explosive stuff from Prashant and Rikesh). Prashant Bist got an early wicket but a good partnership between Jones and Vickery looked promising, however, Jonathan Balakumar removed Jones on 40 with a brilliant delivery. Another partnership formed however, Anish Karavadra kept proceedings under control bowling ( 8 overs 2 maidens 25 runs 1 wicket). Once the dangerous Ryan Vickery departed for a well made 70 after a brilliant catch on the boundary from Bist off the bowling of Shane Vamadevan(8 overs 1 maiden 24 runs 1 wicket) who also bowled tightly when needed, the game was all but over. After Prakash Seeralan cleaned up the tail the Parks were home and dry (7.1 overs 0 maidens 36 runs 3 wickets). It was a good performance all round from the boys with some very tight fielding from all players, in the end winning by 45 runs.
