Match report Old Parkonians had much the better of a draw against Harlow at Oakfield in SNEL division two on Saturday, as the visitors last wicket pair survived four overs to cling onto survival.

Batting first, Parks were indebted to a brilliant unbeaten 121 from Bobby Curtis, who single handily lead his new side to a competitive total of 223-6 declared from 52 overs on a difficult wicket.

Curtis carried his bat throughout in a gritty and determined innings and received good support down the Parks order.

The target always seemed to be beyond Harlow, who Parks had earlier disposed of in the league cup in April and only their overseas star Jacob Martin put up any real resistance with 51.

The main cause of the visitors downfall was Phil Butchart, who captured wonderful figures of 14-4-38-7 and this looked to be setting Parkonians up for a comfortable victory.

However, despite the ninth wicket falling with still fours overs to be bowled the tenth wasn't forthcoming and Parks had to settle for maximum draw points of twelve. Harlow ended on 177-9 and were 47 runs short of the target. The team slip one place to fifth and entertain Billericay this weekend.
