Match report On a bleak and blustery Sunday morning 10 man Old Parks under 15’s made the journey to West Essex for a friendly.
Old Parks won the toss and elected to bat first.
Despite the pitch being rather wet the batting started well with opener Elliott Osborne quickly reaching the retiring score of 25.
Unfortunately the other Old Parks wickets were tumbling quickly. Only Jonathan (11) and Omar (16) reached double figures and 4 batsman were out for 0 runs. Elliott returned to the crease in the final over to reach 29 not out but Old Parks score was 96:9 off 19.5 overs
The Old Parks bowlers made a good start to the West Essex reply with Anish taking 2 wickets for 20 runs in his 4 over stint, Shane 17:0 off 3 overs and Sharm 16:1 off 3 overs, but a good innings by West Essex opener Sammi (22) and Pravin retired (28) helped seal Old Parks fate as they were beaten in 15.5 overs.
The attitude of the players was commendable in their defeat as they shook hands and congratulated the opposition on a good win.
