Oakfield Parkonians Cricket Club Won by 27 runs

Match report The final Group stage game in the Matchplay competition was very tense for Parks knowing the had to win and score highly to improve their chances of progressing to the quarter finals.
Parks were put into and started slowly losing both openers within the first five overs with only 26 on the board. Janagan Vijayanathan (39) and Luke Coates (23) stumped coming down the pitch when trying to push the score along, then steadied the innings. Jamie Gordon (39) played a captains innings and then Hassan Chaudhry took a liking to the bowling smashing a quick 42 runs, assisted by Jonathan Balakumar (25 not out)to end on 219 for 8.
Billericay openers batting sensibly scored 112 before Parks spinners turned the match in their favour, losing the first wicket to an excellent one handed diving catch by Hassan Chaudhry. The spinners Pirra Vigneswarathasan (8-0-34-4) and Janagan Vijayanathan (8-1-35-1) slowed the runs down an left Billericay chasing 60 runs from the last four overs when the seamers returned Lakshman Sathananthan (8-1-33-0) and Taaha Naqvi (8-1-24-0) returned.
A fine win for Parks who now rely on results elsewhere going their way to reach the quarter finals.
