ED BUXTON SCORES PARKS RECORD 269 NOT OUT!

10 Sep 2007

Ed Buxton yesterday scored a new club record of an amazing 269 not out against Leyton Orient Supporters Club. Having held the previous record of 192 not out against Walthamstow in 2003, Ed smashed this to become the first ever Old Parks double centurion. Ed brought up his 100 in just 11.3 overs and continued to race along bringing up his double hundred after 30 overs and finishing on a massive 269 not out, a feat that might never be broken. His incredible innings spanned just 155 balls and included 39 fours and 10 massive sixes.

The 40 over friendly at Oakfield produced two other new records apart from Ed's double-century - Ed and Shahid Khan added 246 for the first wicket to reach the honours board whilst Parks 395-1 is the new record total by any Parks XI.

For the record, Leyton Orient SC finished on 229-7 from their 40 overs with Adam Parkes scoring an excellent 77 as Parks won by a massive 166 runs. It must also be noted Shahid Khan (53 with four boundaries) and Jamie Porter (51 not out with eight fours) both scored excellent 50's too in the Parks run fest.
