Match report Weather condition was cloudy. Square was green. Outfield was slow. Forecast for the evening was not good. Parks did not expect to complete the game. Skipper George Christian won the toss and opted to bat first. Usual tactics under these conditions was applicable, Bat first have tea and meet in the club house for hot drinks.

Parks got off to a steady, unspectacular start. As usual West Essex 3’s had excellent bowling side, combining young second team bowler with experienced medium pacers and spinners. Parks skipper has been on brilliant form lately and scored another 50. Hitting 5 boundaries in one over was the highlight of his innings. Then park s lost 4 wickets in 8 overs. Mr.Reliable Gurmit Bhatia played another great innings (58) and rescued the situation. Parks got to a decent total of 183 under difficult conditions, against a tough opposition. Extra support to West Essex was provided by Parks umpire Amanjit Singh, who collected the ball and handed it over to the bowler, with Gurmit Bhatia miles away from the crease. Sensible decision by opposition saved someones bacon on the day.

Rain came to the rescue of West Essex and game was called off, both team collecting 6 points each. West Essex got away with another-one.
