Match report
Having won the first 3 Match Play fixtures and qualified for the next round, today's match was more about keeping the momentum going. Captained today by Paran Kalley, the young Parkonians managed to beat a very good High Roding side by 7 wickets, with plenty to spare.

The opposition won the toss and elected to bat first.

OPCC opened the bowling with Paresh Kalley and Aman Patel, with both bowlers bowling well but without any success. With the two openers now firmly in, Captain Paran Kalley brought himself onto bowl, alongside Ronan Karuna. Ronan, bowled very well and managed to break the opening partnership of 65 and managed to get another wicket; finishing with 2 for 26 of 6 overs. The next change bowler was Tarunpreet Bhatia who also bowled very well by taking two important wickets at the right time; finishing with bowling figures of 6-0-21-2. Paran after his second spell ending with figures of 7-0-31-2. OPCC were also able to runout 3 opposition batsmen.

High Roding ending their innings at 206 for 9 of 39.3 overs.

In reply OPCC opened with the ever reliable Arun Kullar and on this occasion partnering him was Abdul Usman. Both batsmen did a good job against a exceedingly good opening bowlers. Abdul making 1 and Arun making 21. Batsmen 3 & 4 were Paran and Paresh Kalley who shared a 3rd wicket partnership of 133. Paresh getting out for 61 and Paran remaining not out on 91. The last batsmen making his match play debut was Thomas Varne remained not out for 1. With this OPCC managed to reach the target of 206 with 5 overs to spare.

A special thank you to under 12 Hamd Usman who played today making his match play debut.

Negatives: Some sloppy fielding in the first 20 overs. Much approved in the 2nd 20. Still too many wides being conceded.


Positives: No byes conceded. Well done Arun and Ronan. Overall good bowling but room for improvement. A very comprehensive run chase.
