Match report Parks arrived at Harlow expecting the rain to ruin the day. The forecast was awful, the pitch very damp, and mizzle was hanging in the air. Parks won the toss for the first time this season and decided to have a bat whilst conditions allowed.

As expected it was very hard going. There were only 2 fours in the first 30 overs because of the incredibly slow outfield. Jon Balakumar however, batted well in the last 10 overs for his 46 not out, boosting Parks to what was thought a very competitive total of 156/6 off their 40 overs.

The reply started well for parks. Young CHarith Jatia again bowled well, picking up 2/7 in his 6 overs. Jigar Desai at the other end was also miserly, and with 30 runs off the first 14 overs, it was felt we had control of the game. But Harlow Town then found some urgency and started to hit the change bowlers. Rain fell torrentially at 23 overs with the score on 83/4. There was no chance for any further play so a quick check of the league rules showed that Parks had won by 6 runs on run rate. A fortunate win because Harlow Town had all the momentum when the play was ended, but a win is a win and that is 3 in a row for the 3rd XI, who sit 3rd in the league table. Loughton visit next week.
