Match report Oakfield Parkonians Sunday A XI lost to Frenford by 6 wickets in a friendly game at Oakfield.
OPCC 217 for 5 wickets 40 overs; Frenford 218 for 4 wickets in 37 overs.

Parks won the toss and elected to bat first. Young very talented Bhavdeep and Talha opened the batting and played very well against experienced opposition attack and produced a steady partnership of 36 in 12 overs. After Bhadeeps departure for 17, Parks progress to 68 at the drinks break. Talha was the next batsman to go soon after the break for a well crafted 20. Ravi Teja coming in number 5 was well supported by Luke Coates (27) and Rohit Ananraj (27) but both fell in quick succession. Ravi batted beautifully for his 76 which consisted of 3 huge sixes and 8 fours. Cameo innings of 17 from Kumaran Raveendradas helped Parks to post a reasonable total of 217 in 40 overs. Azhar and Faheem for Frenford bowled well and took 2 wickets a piece.
In reply Frendford got off to a steady start with Tahir (13) and Irfan (36). Parks had the break through with a new comer Fasan Habib who picked up 3 wickets in his allotted 8 overs for 51 runs. He played for Parks as a colt over 13 years ago. However Parks could not contain the opposition as the number 3 batsman Shakeel and Number 5 batsman Adil took away the game from Parks as they punished the poor bowling to all over the ground. Talha bowled a short spell of 4 overs with accuracy and discipline earned him a wicket of Shakeel for 63. Amanjit, Bhavdeep and Rohit also bowled well against a strong batting side. Frendford reached the target with 3 overs left and Adil finished 72 not out.
Despite Parks lost the game, it was a good opportunity for the youngsters to perform well in a competitive game against a strong team.
