Match report On a scorching Saturday, Parks travelled to Shenfield CC. Parks Captain Gurmit Bhatia won the toss and elected to bat. With contributions from most, Parks manged a very respectfully 245 all out in the 39th over. The highlight of the batting was a good 22 up the top of the innings by George Christian and in the middle a whirlwind 58 by Gurmit which included 7 fours and 3 sixes, and a well compiled 32 by Amar Desai.

In defence of the set target Parks started off well conceding 22 of the first 5 overs. Then came the extended tea break to accommodate the very important football match of the day. After the restart Parks as a team bowled and fielded poorly, whereas Shenfield batted well, taking advantage of the small leg side boundaries, and by doing so overhauled the target in the 35th over. The only bowlers that showed some composure were young Thomas Varnes (5.4-1-24-1), and Pirra Vignesvarathasan (2-0-9-0).

This was a bad loss for Parks, but the captain is confident that this was just a one off, and collectively the team will rebound forcefully & positively in the weeks to come.
