Match report After last weeks convincing win, Park’s were looking to carry forward the momentum against West Essex 3’s. Park’s captain lost the toss for the 1st time this season and was asked to field first. Given the state of the wicket this was exactly what Park’s wanted.

Park’s opened with Jigar Desai, and Chetan Patel with both bowlers bowling superbly. Jigar in particular was unplayable, bowling straight through for his 8 overs (8-4-12-4). Fist change was young colt Zayd Ahmed making his 4th team debut bowled with accuracy and pace. Zayd managed to get his first 4th XI wicket in his first over, and from there continued his great start and ended his spell by taking 4 wickets; all clean bowled. (6-1-16-4). At the drinks interval Park’s had the opposition reeling at 53 for 7. Its fair to say the after drinks Park’s became complacent and allowed West Essex to reach 114/10 in the 34th over, a score which was going to be difficult to attain given the state of the pitch. The remaining two wickets were shared between Shahid Khan & Adam Goldman.

Park’s went into bat knowing that the chase was going to be a difficult one. Parks opened with Balwinder Diocee, and Eshwar Khambam both batsman making 9 each, and departing with-in the first 4 overs. Next in batsman Adam Goldman, and Maran Mariyathas steady the ship somewhat and shared a 28-run partnership, taking Park’s to 47 in the 18th over. Adam fell for a patient 14 in the 19th over. Next in was Gurmit Bhatia who with Maran managed to survive till the drinks interval, at which point Parks were 49 for 3. After drinks Park’s had a mini collapse, loosing 3 wickets with-in 3 overs and found themselves reeling at 50 for 6 of 23 overs. Luckily for Park’s Amar Desai (39 n.o) & Bhavik Trivedi (29 n.o) shared a very sensible 70 run partnership, taking Park’s over the finish line in the 37th over.

A fighting win for Park’s, keeps them moving up the table; eagerly waiting for next weeks home game against Upminster CC.
