Match report It was billed as the match of the season between the 3rd place Chingford and the 2nd placed Parks both pushing for that promotion spot. On a glorious sunny day Parks’ captain Gurmit Bhatia won the toss and elected to bat first.

Parks openers Shahid Khan and George Christian started the innings cautiously against a very good opening bowling attack. However with the score at 20 both openers departed and made way for Parks' inform batsmen Maran Mariyathas and Gobi Jeevkumar. Both batted exceptionally well and put on a 100 run partnership scoring 37 and 78 respectively. Parks ended the innings with 191 all out after 42 overs.

In reply Parks made scoring difficult for the opening Chingford batsmen by bowling to the plan and to the field. Manicks Shankar made the breakthrough on the 5th over (12 - 2 - 38 -3). Chingeford slowly chipped away at the runs but wickets fell regularly thanks to some very good catching by Gobi and Gurmit (2 catches each) and some excellent bowling by young Om Thakaria (12 -2 - 39 - 3) and Gobi (5.3 - 0 - 33 - 2).

With 9 wickets down Parks were confident to wrap up the innings with only 2 overs to spare. However Chingford skipper Garry had other ideas and held his nerve to get his team over the winning line with 1 over to spare.

A disappointing results for Parks but with two matches to go anything is possible at the top of the table. The team is looking forward to travelling to Upminster next week seeking a much needed win.
