Match report OPCC 4th XI drew with Upminster 6th XI away on Saturday 21 May 16

Upminster 181 all out in 38.4 overs, OPCC 115 for 7 in 47 overs

Having won the toss, Upminster batted first and scored 181 all out in 38.4 overs thanks to fine batting performance from the opener C Adams (34), no 3 batsman S Iqbal (32) and the middle order batsman R Calder (30) being the main contributors to the total which looked below par on a flat wicket. Adam Goldman opened the bowling with Bhavik Trivedi playing his first game for the club made the opposition batsmen to work hard for the runs. Adam bowled 12 overs in his spell took 3 wickets for 50 runs. Introducing the 13 year old very talented Saajan Bansel playing his first senior game, in to the attack, took a wicket in his very first ball, went on to take 2 more wickets in his first spell of 4 overs. Very impressive performance. Umar Arbar coming in to the late attack claimed 2 wickets.

In reply Parks sufferred early loss of Bal Diocee's wicket in the 3rd over followed by a diabollical run out of Adam Goldman put the Parks in the back foot. The inform batsman Dan Shalom (30) and Skipper Vijay Vijayanathan (20) steadied the ship with a partnership of 46 runs but having lost both batsmen followed by a mini collapse in the middle order, Parks salvaged a draw with an excellent batting from Howard Berlin and Subash Patel seeing through the last hour of play. Parks finished on 115 for 7. M Gordon, S Ibal and P Scott took 2 wickets a piece for UPM.
