Match report Belhus 4t XI 179 all out in 39 overs. OPCC 4th XI 149 all out in 37.4 overs

Winning the toss, Parks elected to field first to take advantage of the condition of the pitch and made good progress through opening bowlers Shankar Manicks and Mathew Holland's impressive first spell brought early wickets and sparing 2 wickets a piece. Belhus young batsman excellent resistance and fine stroke play steadied the ship kept the score ticking scoring a fine 50. After his departure Belhus suffered a mini collapse but the tail end batsmen J Wilson (skipper) and R Long put on a fine partnership of 78 before Belhus were all out for 177 in 39 overs.

In reply OPCC suffered early loss of wickets despite a stubborn innings from Dan Shalom who played well to his 63. Only other batsman got a double figure is Subash Patel with 14 runs, five other batsmen were without scoring any runs OPCC were all out for 149. R Long, Z Wilson and J Wilson were the successful bowlers with 2 wickets a piece.

This was a disappointing result with batting failures for 4s at the early stage of the league campaign but there is a belief that we can turn things around to achieve better results.
