Match report Parks won the toss on a scorcher of a day.

We went into bat and the openers got us off to a good start, with 44 off the first 11 overs. Kirandeep Bansal (38) and Jibran Azam (44) then quickly accelerated to take Parks on to 78-2 from 17 overs. A mix-up in running led to Bansal being run out which was unfortunate as he was looking destructive. Jibran then lost his wicket in quick succession and Parks quickly found themselves 121-5 from 30 overs. A lot was required from the middle order to get a par score. Rushan Pandya (24) and Shubhang Mehta (29), in his new role lower down the order, batted superbly scoring 51 in 10 overs. Then Anton Buntin (25 not out) once again stole the show down the lower order scoring a quick fire 25 bringing Parks to a total of 213 from the 52 overs.

The pitch had played well, but it was very dusty and the ball was turning ragged towards the end which encouraged the Parks spinners in between innings.

It was the seamers who stole the show early on with Benfleet being quickly reduced to 39-4 from 10 overs. Haris Khan (9-0-21-1), Baldeep Mann (5-0-29-1) and Kirandeep Bansal (4-2-14-2) bowled a superb spell of fast bowling using the new ball on a pitch which didn't give too much assistance. Then came a solid partnership and some good aggressive batting from Benfleet. Parks spinners, who have been dependable all season quickly came to the fore. Week by week, the spinner combination proves difficult for our opposition and this week was again Jibran Azam's time (9-3-33-4) who was turning the ball on the dust bowl. Two superb catches at short leg from Shubhang Mehta illustrated that the Parks spinners are now becoming a recognised force in the league.

Benfleet were bowled out for 143 in 34.1 overs and Parks remain top of the league looking forward to a big game against Pegagus next week.
