Match report We arrived at Hutton knowing we had to put in a much improved perfomance after last weeks loss. Over cast conditions meant at the toss being won, we opted to field.

In swinging conditions we started sloppy with our bowlers struggling to control the ball, this meant too many wides were given, resulting in 29 wides compared to Huttons 6. It must be said Huttons Crapnell batted well for his 50 though, with some powerful straight hits. 1st change bowler Kirandeep Bansal came on to give the much needed control required to bowl 10 overs straight through of great accuracy, which turned round the innings. This was followed up by a great spell of spin bowling by Rizwan Sadiq, which further tightened the screw. In the end Hutton were bowled out for 219, which we felt was well below par and very gettable if we apllied ourselves. A good effort in the field once again.

Once we started the chase, the demons of last week came back in a dissapointing batting effort. Wickets fell far to regularly as we got bowled out for 140 with Huttons Whelan grabbing 5 wickets being the main destroyer. The only highlights were the batting of Rizwan Sadiq with yet another 50, in a stroke filled effort. As well as 1st team debutant Adnan Aslam compiling a classy 41 and looking right at home in 1st team cricket.

A dissaponting result with batting failures again coming to the fore. We need to learn that we must bat the 50 overs and value our wickets. However, we are still only 1 win of the top in a topsy turvy leeague, with all still to play for. Thus all is not lost at this early stage and there is a belief we can turn things around and achieve promotion. We of course must improve though and get those runs on the board in a consistent manner.
