Match report Parkonians second team got their SNEL division three campaign off to the prefect start with a 129 run thrashing of Stanford-Le-Hope at the rec.
Batting first after losing the toss, Parks amassed 243-6 declared after 52 overs, with Andy Glassberg hitting his maiden league half-century with an excellent unbeaten 72, David Buxton smashing 40 not out and Waqar Yusaf and Matt Court both scoring 38. Glassberg and Buxton took 73 from the last 48 balls to propel Parks to a huge score on a difficult track and then saw opening bowlers Glen Sasikaran (3-14) and captain Josh Gordon (3-56) run through the top order to reduce the hosts to 45-6. They never recovered and Glassberg continued his fine match collecting the last four wickets without conceding a run as Parks picked up 20 points to start the season in style, with Stanford all out for 114.
