Match report

Rainham were hosting Oakfield in the Brian Taylor fixture. 

Oakfield won the toss & elected to bat. Opening batsmen Ayaan Usman & Sheharyar Chaudhry, both started a great partnership, batting the ball to the boundaries.

it was during the 11th over, when unfortunately, Ayaan’s 37 runs came to a closure when he had to leave the crease in a run out, bringing in Navine Sureshan who patiently batted out the overs scoring a huge 57 not out for his teammates.

 Sheharyar (20) was bowled out too not long after as ibad Usman came in to partner Navine, however he was bowled & caught at 17 runs during the 21st over. Next in was Prajen Kavinkumar, however he too was unluckily run out after just two overs at the crease, giving Ayman Rifan the last two overs to aid Navine. 

Both came away not out with a great score of 162-4 at 25 overs.


Rainham too started off with a successful partnership, which ended with Sheharyar 4-0-15-1 bowling out the opener, during the 7th over. The 9th over saw Prajen 4-0-14-2 LBW opposition’s batsman. 

The runs were climbing nonetheless & Parks knew they needed to eliminate the wickets in order to win. Ayaan 3-0-25-1 bowled out batsman number 4. 

Ibad 4-0-19-2 took two wickets in succession taking a crucial wicket, ending the openers runs 3 short of his 50. 

This broke the momentum for Rainham who were looking to win, but could see their wickets falling one after another.

Parks’ Ayman 1-0-12-2, bowled out & caught & bowled yet another batsman during his only over.

Navine 4-1-11-1 bowled exceptionally well taking out another of his oppponents & the game ended dramatically with Rainham closing their innings after their 9th wicket was caught by Ayman off Prajen’s 4-0-14-2 spin bowling.

Albeit two runs ahead, Parks won the match in a remarkable display of great cricketing from both teams.
